Apple launched the MacPro today. So I thought I would let all of you start saving now for my birthday. ;)
I took some time to price one the way that I would want it, but not unreasonably going overboard. This is what I came up with.
- 2 Dual Core 2GHz processors (yes that is 4 total cores… fucking awesome)
- 1 GB of memory (2 512MB sticks)
- 1 500 GB drive (it was really tempting to pick more than one :))
- 2 NVidia GeForce 7300 GT 256MB
- 2 20″ Apple Cinema Displays (I love dual monitors; also, it was hard to not pick the 30″ displays :))
- Wireless keyboard and wireless Might Mouse
- iWorks
- AppleCare
For all the other options, I picked the cheapest. Total price: $4,335.00. So, I am not going to be getting one anytime soon. Maybe one of my loyal readers is really generous. ;)

You REALLY should upgrade your RAM, if you’re going to have dual monitors you may as well have 2 Gigs as well.
I guess you are right, but it is already so expensive. :) I could always get by with only one monitor after all. And it does not really have to be one that is made by Apple…. yeah. I could get the price way down and still be very, very happy.
